Note
Maza (1953, 121) suggested that this painting was the source of the engraving by Antonio Baratti (1724 - 1787) designed by Cajetanus Zampinus, and serving as frontispiece to the Italian edition of the Opusculum Theophilosophicum (Venice: Andrea Poletti, 1755). It is more likely, however, that the source of the Baratti engraving was the engraving by Troncoso that illustrated the original edition of the work published in Venice. De la Maza took that engraving to represent the idea that the soul of Mary was Guadalupan.
