Note: In addition to the proposed source, Mauquoy-Hendrickx (1978-1983, I, 102) mentions a copy of the Wierix engraving with the excudit of M. Snyders (MH 583d) which we have not seen. There is also an 18th century copy by Martin Engelgrecht. But it is farther from the painting above, be it in terms of Christ's grasp of the cross, his posture, or the location of his side wound.
