Etching. One of two plates comprising Illustration 2 of his Histoire Sacrée de la Providence et de la Conduite de Dieu[.] Published by the artist in Paris in 1728. After one of the 52 frescoes designed by Raffaello Sanzio da  Urbino (1483-1520), executed by his workshop for the Vatican Loggia in 1519, and popularly known, collectively, as Raphael's Bible.

Raphael's Bible was widely engraved —for example by Sisto Badalocchio and Giovanni Lanfranco (1605-1606), Orazio Borgianni (1615), Francesco Villamena (1626), Nicolas Chaperon (1649), and Cesare Fantetti and Pietro Aquila (1675). We have not compared de Marne's version with all of their counterparts.
