Note: The artist "has put some of the figures, both in the floor and in the wall-pictures, in the dress of Western Indian hill-tribes, and has turned the cross on the high altar into a small lingam! He has also badly misunderstood the more foreshortened of the triforia, the shadows of the pillars on the floor, and the brackets of the roof-rafters" (Butler 1979, 35).
