The first date is the year in which 5494A,the source of this inscription, was first published; the second is the year of the recorded date —February 4, 1739— of a sermón de aparato in which the painting bearing this inscription was exhibited, to great effect, from the pulpit (see the Noticias cronológicas de la gran ciudad del Cuzco composed by Diego Esquivel y Navia in the 18th century and cited in Banco de Crédito del Perú 2002, 243).
