Engraving. First plate (titleplate) of twelve in the series Vita, mors, et miracula quaedam selecta B. Catherinae Senensis. Based on text by Raymond of Capua, the confessor of the saint, and other clerics associated with her. Francesco Vanni (ca. 1563 - 1610) invenit, descripsit, et delineavit. Published in Siena by Matteo Florimi (1540-1613) and, in 1608, by his son Giovanni Matteo. A copy of this series was subsequently published in Antwerp, which we have not seen.
