An old-aged white magus bearing myrrh is identified here as Gaspar by the inscription S. Gasp. under his right hand.
Note 2
Although the magus represented here differs from the one in the proposed source, the fact that the other two magi of this series are taken from this same source, and the fact that the third magus is bowing downwith with a barely visible face lends him unusable as a chapter letter illustration
