- In 1661, Giovanni Battista de Marinis, then Master of the Order of Preachers, confirmed fellow Dominican Antonio Gonzales Acuña as promotor of the cause for the canonization of Rose of Lima. Rose was beatified in 1668 and canonized in 1671. The status of venerabilis is prior to that of beata. The date for this work might thus fall between 1661 and 1668.
