De Augsburgo a Quito: Fuentes Grabadas del Arte Jesuita Quiteño del Siglo XVIII
De Augsburgo a Quito: Fuentes Grabadas del Arte Jesuita Quiteño del Siglo XVIII opened on July 31, 2014 at the Iglesia de la Compañía in Quito, Ecuador. The show featured more than thirty correspondences between rococo engravings produced in Augsburg and paintings and sculptures made in Quito. Featured in the show were twenty-three thesis sheets (Thesenblätter) which have been preserved in Quito collections to this day. Two of these were illuminated locally, and one of them inspired a painting in the Nahim Isaías Collection. All three have been included in the show—alongside dozens of other Quito works of art and the Augsburg engravings that inspired them. The exhibition, which remained open through December 3, welcomed 20413 visitors. A catalog of the show is now available (follow the link below).
